The rest of the story

After my visiting my mom in Idaho I drove home... all by myself...me and a book on tape. (Note, Karl drove to Idaho with me, stayed the weekend and flew back to Vegas.)

I did break the trip up by stopping in Salt Lake City to hang out with #4 son, Clark for a day (Rachel was on her own long solo road trip to see her family in Pasco).

Now since Clark & Rachel work nights they are on more of a vampire schedule. So Clark and I headed out for walk at about 10:00 pm. We walk up through the Avenues by some amazing and charming houses... if I could have really seen them. Then around the cemetery and through it...reading head stones at 11:30 pm. It was really quite fun. By then it was bedtime for me...I think Clark watched a movie.

The next morning we went up Emigration Canyon to Ruth's Diner for Breakfast.
I highly recommend it. Cinnamon roll french toast....mmmmm.

Then we scouted out Gilgal Garden...a Sculpture garden created by Thomas B. Childs. Very beautiful. Each Sculpture was his interpretation of scripture...very interesting.

By then it was bedtime/naptime for Clark! In spite of the difference in our nocturnal habits we had fun time.

Saturday I continued on my drive. Next stop Enterprise Utah. Did I mention I love my Garmin GPS. Enterprise is off in the ticky bushes. Karl's band was playing at the annual Corn Fest there...amid a semi-wind storm. It's hard to take a picture of wind...but it was windy.

Okay I didn't drive all of the way home by myself...Karl drove the rest of the way.

For 33 years of our marriage we always had vehicles that you drove with a prayer in your heart and a tool box in the back. So I never really wanted to venture out on my own or especially with a pile of little boys. Ahhh...I finally feel a sense of freedom...but for some reason Karl's nervous now.
