It's a beautiful fall day in Vegas...dreary, drizzly, and 65°.
For Vegas that IS a beautiful change.
Last night we could hear the rain tapping off the windows and the roof. It kept us awake again. And again we dozed through our 5:30 gym time...basking in the cool fresh air during brief moments of consciousness.
Ahhhh....another cool, beautiful morning.
I say again because....
The night before we woke at 3 am to the most amazing thunderstorm we've experienced here in Vegas. We could hear the thunder rolling in and get progressively closer and closer until it was right over us. The amazing part was that there was no breaks between thunder claps...it was a continually rumble of thunder all around us...some louder than others with a few house rattling claps that makes one expect the lights to flicker and the power to go out. Amazingly...it didn't. We just laid there listening to thunder, watching the windows light up almost continuously. Then I realized this storm could have some serious consequences so I jumped up and ran to unplug the computer and TV. We stood in the front doorway watching rain pour off the roof amazed at how light the sky was... until we were intimated by a few flashes that bolted across the sky and we scurried back to the safety of our bed.
Yes...we dozed through our gym time yesterday also.
I hope it is cloudy and drizzly all day.
Perfect weather for baking cookies...since I'm on the fast track to fat anyway :)
P.S Our newly planted fall gardens loves this weather too.
