Houston Day 6

Monday...my last day in Seabrook  and we had so many things to do.
Annual School pictures for the girls:

The pool
This is a beautiful hotel pool
that Janet has access to with her gym membership.
Nice benefit.
These girls are just little fish
....Mermaids to be exact.

Then we crammed laundry, packing, party prep and sewing into the rest of the day.

When Chad got home from work he wanted to know what fun thing we were going to do for my last evening there.  Decided we had time for a short bike ride.  It was going to be just a short, quick ride that I didn't take my camera or my phone. Mistake.  Such a fun ride over trails and to the water  Then to old downtown Seabrook where we kept spotting the Seabrook Pelicans.
New goal for my next visit.
A photo hunt to capture photos of all 37 Pelican.

( I snagged these photos from the internet)
   On the bikes of course.
And we will remember to bring some money for Dairy Queen too.

Houston Day 5

Sunday...Of course we went to church.   And Violet gave her first talk in Primary. Her assigned topic for her talk was "Fun family activities helps as draw closer as a family."  They assigned that topic to the right family.

After church and lunch Chad loaded the four bike the bike trailer into the back of the van and on the bike rack .  We drove 5 minutes over the Kemah bridge to Violet's school where he re-assembled the whole menagerie so we could ride through this beautiful resort  neighborhood on the water.

The kind of neighborhood where the homes have their own private docks in their backyards or they can walk to their boat slip in the harbor.   I could be extremely happy there.

The homes were soooo charming.  Every size and shape.

Chad even remembered a cooler filled with cold beverages
...what a man!

This is what heaven looks like.

Then we rode our bike UNDER the kemah bridge, parked them  and rode the worlds shortest ferry

...over to the  Kemah  Boardwalk to watch the boats come into the harbor of the evening.
Got to see the Boardwalk Beist.

Bike trailer doubles as a stroller...that was handy.
Just another fun day with Chad's family.

Houston Day 4

The Beach
Saturday late afternoon there was a four Stake Youth Beach activity at Stewart Beach in Galveston.  Since Chad is the scout master and councs in the YM presidency he felt obligated to attend.  Perfect...we wanted to go to the beach anyway.     Of course the beach was crazy crowded (from my perspective)  with tons of teenagers...and a lot of really cute modest swimsuits.

Our sand castle complete with moat.
The water was so warm but the waves were really coming in stirring up the sand.
We were so sandy from head to toe
...hence, why Chad  installed an outdoor shower.

Strip'em down and shower them off with no sand getting tracked in to the house.
Has kind of a tropical resort feel...showering outside in the dark to the hum and buzz of all the nocturnal critters.

Day 3 in Houston

(day 2 according to Janet's count)
First stop...old time photo shoot  in Galveston.
Followed by ice cream at an ice cream parlor
 in Old downtown Galveston.
Then to Moody Garden's water park
Find Waldo...I mean Chad.

Of course there was a lot of fun here
that couldn't be captured on camera.
A Family Photo
...just got bombed by a wave

There was some tuckered out children
 Just a quick rest
cause the next stop was dinner at a favorite place.
Love Jimmy Changas
It was a Fun Filled Friday.

Enchanting and Magical

Lucia other grandma made her this darling Anna costume
....but it was too big.  So one of my first projects was to shrink it down to size so it would be ready for her Frozen birthday party.
 Sisters Forever
.
We also worked on elements of the birthday cake,

While I was there gnomes came and built a Fairy garden.
We are hoping the fairies from the nearby woods came to live in the garden.
Every night the gnomes would add more to the fairy garden.
The fairies should be very happy.
Of course the gnomes would hide in different places everyday.
Violet left a note for the fairies .
They left her some sea shells.
These are beach fairies...can you tell?
