Planes, Trains and Relatives

After another debacle with Spirit Airline Chad and Janet and family flew into Vegas Saturday morning.  We picked them up at the airport and headed straight to Boulder City...after a quick early lunch at In-n-Out.

Then off to ride the Boulder City Train.
An outing planned to delight an almost three year old's heart.
Waiting on an abandoned track for our time to board the train.
But Ben was sound asleep in the car.
We were a bit worried this little person would sleep through his whole train ride.
 ALL ABOARD!

Luckily Ben woke up as we boarded the train
and luckily he woke up happy.

 Exploring the old train cars.

Watching the model train go around it's track.
Maybe next time we can ride miniature train.
But today we had to get to the park by Pam's house
for a little family reunion/potluck lunch
with the all the Boulder City relatives.
And amazingly they all were able to come.
It had been years since Chad and Janet had seen these cousins.

By the time we got home Chad was feeling kinda sick and a few of the kids were showing symptoms.
Sunday Chad and Lucia stayed home from church.
Shrimp Boil

We did get everyone to the park for some fresh air and playtime in the afternoon. But Chad was still just dragging.

Dusting the new gifts to the Fairy Garden with Pixie Dust.
The magic is real!
Monday morning I flew off to Dallas to help welcome a new baby and left the Houston crew for Karl to tend.

Enchanting and Magical

Lucia other grandma made her this darling Anna costume
....but it was too big.  So one of my first projects was to shrink it down to size so it would be ready for her Frozen birthday party.
 Sisters Forever
.
We also worked on elements of the birthday cake,

While I was there gnomes came and built a Fairy garden.
We are hoping the fairies from the nearby woods came to live in the garden.
Every night the gnomes would add more to the fairy garden.
The fairies should be very happy.
Of course the gnomes would hide in different places everyday.
Violet left a note for the fairies .
They left her some sea shells.
These are beach fairies...can you tell?

The Fairy Garden

While Violet and Lucia were here
we found  a fairy garden tucked in amongst the ivy.
Watching over this special garden are four little gnomes.
 Friends of the fairies.
During the night these little guys move around the yard.
But one gnomes always stays close to guard the magical door.

One cardinal rule of fairies, gnomes and all things magical is
You can not touch them...or the magical will leave.
Violet and Lucia brought a tiny little bicycle for the fairy garden.   So right before bedtime with the fairy lights twinkling we placed the bike in the garden and sprinkled it with glittering fairy dust.
The next morning one of the gnomes was riding it
...so we know the fairies liked their new little bike.
Hope you have something magical happening in your life right now too.
