Love this Place

Paragonah, Utah
.  Clare's (Karl's oldest brother) little country corner.

Once a year Clare's Band gathers at his place in Paragonah and puts on a little Bluegrass concert on his lawn.  Then the next night they drive over the mountain and repeat the concert at the little chapel  at Panguitch Lake.   We were honored to be invited to hang out with this group and for Karl to join the band for the evening in Panguitch.
We had a great time and this group made us feel like the youngsters.
The first night we stayed in the Bunkhouse...now my favorite accommadations on the property.
The next night Karl made us move in to the house...the sound of the donkey braying, rooster crowing and other sounds of the country kept him awake. That was exactly what I loved about being in the bunkhouse...hearing those country sound I miss.
There was alot of jammin'. on the lawn.
And a fair amount of just relaxin'

.
We went 4-wheelin' up the canyon.
.
Love this sign in the Paragonah cemetery.

 The Band playing in Panguitch.

.
Nobody can get a crowd going like Clare...
His rendition of "Oh When the Saints" is a crowd pleaser.

After everyone left we hung around for a few more peaceful hours
...of horseshoes
 ...and bean picking.
Kaye sent us home with a huge bag of beans.
We tried our best to fix them "Nancy Style"
So good.  They didn't last long.
 Oh I love this place.
It reminds me of where I came from and that my heart still belongs on the farm.

Old Love...

like a comfortable old shoe.   It just feels good.  May not look glamorous...but at 37 years squishy comfort beats glamor any day.
So here's how a perfect 37th anniversary goes...

He finds this on his mirror.
She finds this on the table.
And after their meetings and the day's "to-dos" are done
they sit down together
...and eat sugar-free, low-fat ice cream right out the carton.

Ahhh....old love.  It's a beautiful thing.
(Kudos to Pinterest and Walmart for helping us out)

More of my Boston Adventures.

After my brief trip to Baltimore I returned back to Boston. Janet picked me up from the subway station without children and announced we were having a girl's day out.   After lunch at Panera we headed to Orchard House where Louisa May Alcott wrote "Little Women."
.
The tour was really interesting
...and complimentary by way of a library pass.
I love that they do that in Boston...so helpful.
.
We weren't allow to take pictures inside
...I'm thinking that's so they'd sell more postcard prints.

The home was very much the same as when Lousia May Alcott lived there
...after she made her money writing "little Women."
It was quite nice.
.

Then we explored the Concord river by kayak...So fun, so peaceful, so amazing...I couldn't believe  I was actually there, in a kayak on the Concord River!
'

.
...floating under historic bridges.
'
...to the Old North Bridge.

And dreaming about which beautiful house I choose
with a backyard that rolled  to the Concord river.
So beautiful...so different than Vegas.
.
Ahhh...to dream.
Thanks Janet, it was a perfect afternoon.

White Horse Beach

After an afternoon at Pilmoth Plantation we headed to the beach for the evening.

Paddle ball with an extra challenge...Don't step on the little people.
Searching for sea creatures.

Gathering Hermit Crabs

Oooooh....creatures from the deep.
Somebody's legs don't work.
