Perfect day for a hike

We went with the Calico Tanks...
Moderate seemed like a good choice for our age and energy level.

Karl was generally this far ahead of me at any time on the hike.
I  wondered if he forgot he was hiking with me
...not the scouts.

I always imagine this is what the Holy Land would have looked like
 about 2013 years ago.

How!

The last couple days I've been busy making Native American Costumes

trying to ramp up our Cub Scout Arrow of Light ceremony.

 

Our Cub Master put together the head dress and the bone (plastic in our case) breast work.

 It turned out pretty good.  

 And our Cub Scouts loved it!

Just floating along

on the Rainbow River...at least I was.  Jeff and Karl were paddling.
And then when we were head back to the dock, going up stream, thinking we might be late...they were paddling like crazy.

What a fun day.  Here a few of our photo memories.

After we checked the canoe back in we wandered around Rainbow River State park.

Then to the near by town of Dunnellon

 to sampling frog legs and oysters at the Blue Gator   while watching the   Withlacocchee River float by.
