The Cinderella Challenge...

The goal...design and make Cinderella's Ball gown.
That's the project I've been working on  for the children's party company that Steph works for.

Disneyland's version...
Not very flattering to the figure and I didn't care for the print.
Somebody else's version
Better...but a little to risque for children's parties

My version...

(I didn't have a skirt hoop at home so we used pillows to model the fullness
...hence the funny shelf on the skirt.)
Corset lacing on both sides to make it size adjustable...important when your princesses are different sizes.

 Fun project.
Next challenge.. Sleeping Beauty.

Happy Belated Birthday to...

 Rachel!
Her Birthday was November 13th,
But because I was gone (with Charlie and Greta)
And she was gone...(to HAWAII!!!)
"Why we love Rachel" didn't get posted until now.

We love Rachel because...
She's always willing to try a "Culinary Adventure" with us.
She inspires us to keep running...or at least try to get "Fit".

She love to hike as much as I do.
She has a good eye for photography...
But she also has and is developing many other talents...
She plays the guitar...(and Karl loves her for it)
She plays the drum...(helps her stay in beat with Clark)
And she want to learn to sew...(and I love that!)

But we really love her because...

She puts up with Clark...

and loves him.

It's always fun when Grampa comes

Story time
A new dart gun from Grampa

Walks are more fun with Grampa

It's never too early to play with grampa
Singing "popcorn popping"
A quick nap

Advancing from playdough to cookies
Quality control
(note that Greta got relegated back playdough)
The finish product.

Day 5...Just another day with the Grandkids

Greta's been through 3 outfits already and it's only 2:00pm.

Her favorite outfit is totally buff...and she can get that way totally unassisted
.
The house is haunted...how else can you explain how the cheese grater made it to the master bedroom.
This does explain why there was grated cheese on the stairway.

Charlie gets to watch a DVD during quiet time.  He always chooses the "Wiggles",
I really don't like the Wiggles.

Greta discovered how to climb out of her crib...so to protect her from falling Kyle took the side rail off.
I rest easier knowing she's safer... she only fell out of bed twice last night. ( at least we only heard her hit the floor twice...after that we cushioned the landing.

It's nice to know she safer
...this morning I found the diaper wipes all pulled out, the plugs-in un-plugged and Greta was stuck in the closet.

But at least she won't fall out of her crib...very far.

Charlie has a nice little friend...
She made sure the I knew every thing that Greta did to Charlie on the way to Pre-school...including touching him, looking at him and giving him germs.

I've played Christmas music everyday...somehow it just  feels like Christmas here. There's a feeling in the air that's hard to feel in Vegas.

A miracle occurred...the clouds parted and  the sun was shining today...so we dash out for a walk

and to play at the park.

It still feels like Christmas is just around the corner.

 Today's project...a paper bag town.
Greta get hyper when she gets tired
...I've put her in bed 3 times tonight
...and there is still "rattling about" happening up stairs.
Grampa Karl is arriving in about 45 minutes
Ahhh, reinforcements and fresh troops.
I'm so excited...more even more excited than Charlie.
