Maas Nursery

Since Chad and Janet moved to Seabrook they have been saying
"we need to take you to Maas Nursery.
 We finally went.
Think Star Nursery on steroids with 100x the charm.
It was amazing. I loved it!

Another world, with unique finds and ideas around every corner.
An adventure around every bend.

 .
It made me want go work in my yard.

 Loved this saying...it is profound.
And I had to get this much needed cast-iron critter for Karl.
(it would fit in my suitcase)

But my very favorite find was this fountain.
(which would NOT fit in my suitcase or yard)
 because it reminded me
.
...of this special memory.

More Spring break fun

Monday Chad headed off to work
and we headed to Galveston to the Moody Gardens aquarium.
The girls and I had a great time looking at all the under sea creatures
while Janet chased little Benicio who just wanted to run.
The weather was surprisingly beautiful
so we headed to Galveston beach.
Have I ever mentioned...I love Galveston beaches.
You can't go to the beach without building a sand castle.
And collection shells
So the girls and I built a sand castle
 ...while Janet chased Benicio.
Have I ever mentioned that I love Janet.

My Houston Trip

A few months ago Chad and Janet called and invited me to come visit during the kid's Spring Break.   They found an amazing ticket on Spirit airlines..for a 2am flight.  Since they had traveled to Florida on Spirit with their kids without paying extra for luggage...each one just had a backpack.. I decided to take the challenge...everything in a backpack.   This meant no laptop or nice camera.

So March 11th I headed to Houston
and as always I had a wonderful time.
 We played games.
 Practiced the piano with Violet
Trying to get a nice Sunday photo.

Sunday afternoon Chad had to go into work.
It was a beautiful day so Janet and I loaded up the bikes
with children and headed to Pine Gully Park.
Violet was co-pumper.
The kids call it Dragon park because of the tire Dragon.

On the way home I had a new tail-gater...little Lucia
It was a beautiful ride.
For lunches the girls would say they wanted a "masterpiece"
so I would create food art.

Lucia working on a new puzzle.

 And the biggest event
...somebody has their first loose tooth.

Our Yearly Shindig

...with the local relatives.
I missed having Steph here to help with set up, decorating and taking pictures.
So the pictures and the decorations were definitely lacking this year.
This was Karl's year...he insisted we go "simpler".
Disposable table settings.
Then he planned the menu...

PLENTY of food.   BBQ pork, coleslaw, dutch oven potatoes, mac and cheese,  sweet potato fries, cornbread and honey butter.  Plus dessert that most everyone was too full to eat.
 Aren't they sweet.

We played a few minute to win it games

Then there was a mysterious "fart" machine.
It  had Karl a bit baffled and everyone cracking up.

And the best part...
.A lot of good laughs.
