Fun in Philly

Just before Thanksgiving I flew to Philadelphia to spend a few days with Clark and Rachel.
As soon as they pick me up from the airport
we headed downtown to take in a few sights.
 Philadelphia Temple under construction.
I was a bit surprised how "Urban" this temple site was.
Then we ran up and down the  Rocky steps

The next day we headed out to the country to
the Hopewell Furnace Historic site.
An Iron Plantation

We tried getting some possible Christmas card photos
It's was the perfect location.

 Hiking around the lake there.

Saturday we headed back to downtown Philly to see the sights in the daylight.
Clark ordering the "world's best sandwich" at Reading Terminal

Checking out the window display at Macy's

We ended the Philly tour at Clark's school.

Halloween 2014

Halloween (Friday) Karl took Clark, Rachel and me to the airport.  We were all flying to Houston.  Different flights, different airlines, different airports but within 30 minutes of each other.  Poor Janet picking us up at different airports with crazy Houston traffic was a bit of a task.

Now Halloween at Chad's house is a big deal  with weeks (or months) of planning. This year the girls already had their Elsa and Anna costumes and WANTED to be Elsa and Anna...so it was decided.
Now 95% of the little girls in the country were Elsa or Anna for Halloween this year but how many families pulled off Sven, Olaf and Kristoff?  Janet did an amazing job putting those costumes together.
Oh yes...I was a rock troll.
Clark and Rachel had their own ideas for Halloween.
Todd and Margot from Christmas Vacation.

What a group...
out on the prowl for treats.

And I was happy just staying home, staying warm
and treating all the little goblins.

Clark has Graduated!

After what Clark recalls as a long, hard road...

He has graduated!

He's pretty happy about it!

A milestone accomplished.

Rachel's so proud...

...and we are too!
But I'm sure this won't be Clark's last graduation...just a good start.

Happy Birthday to Rachel

I love Rachel because...(a Tobler Birthday Tradition)
She loves Clark
She inspires our family to keep running and be more phyically fit! (She give the Tobler's some stiff (untouchable) competition.
She loves a bargin and will go Thriftstore/yardsale shopping with me.
She's fun to go hiking with.
She's just fun to be with.

We are so happy you have joined our family and we can claim you for a daugher!
Happy Birthday!
