Every Fall I get together with my brothers, my mom, and a few spouses and for what has evolved into the Sibling Reunion. It use to be a full-fledged rip-roarin' Palmer Reunion, but kids grew up and nests got empty. Families scattered and the gathering logistics on a yearly basis just got too overwhelming. So just the original siblings get together...it's quiet...but that's good...we are all getting old and kind of tired.
As usual we gathered in Provo at my brother Craig's home. Because it's extremely large, centrally located between the Idaho folks and the Vegas folks. And it's an empty nest. The main objective of the reunion is to EAT, visit, EAT, visit, EAT and we try to avoid anything that might interfere with that objective.
A few of us hiked the "Y"
"Training Sessions"
Gramma taught how to make Zucchini Pizza.
Brent..."how to stay warm while winter camping"
Not because anyone needed training on such a simple thing...
but I knew the end product would be highly appreciated.
And Gary...he explained how to use the public transit system in Paris.
We showed a lot of slides and caught up on each others families.
Saturday night the local kids (BYU students and a few that had settled in near-by parts) gathered to visit...and EAT.
Dustin (Craig's son and family genealogist) gave a presentation on why we are really not Palmer but (genetically) Hobbie. (an interesting and recently discovered fact.)
Sunday...we continued to EAT...before and after church.
Maybe we'll do better next year.
We already have it planned...same place, same time...EAT and Visit.
We love her!

I love that last picture of Grandma.
What a great tradition. Food and visiting sounds like a fantastic way to spend your time together. I love that you all teach something. Cool idea.
