It's Finished...

It's been done for a while.
It's just on the dress form where I can look at it when I walk by.
It's like a child I've created and I don't want to give it up for adoption to it's new family (Celebrate Kids)

It was my most challenging Princess dress yet.
Once again I didn't like any one else's interpretation of  Sleeping Beauty's gown.

(Collar is not right...bodice too long...skirt too heavy.)
(Only vaguely resembles Sleeping Beauty).
...so I was left to my own imagination...transforming a drawing into fabric.
After a few months of pondering and experimenting in between numerous other projects...here's what I came up with.
Chiffon Skirt
Stretch velvet with lacing up the back makes it size adjustable.
Of course I added the modesty element
...these are for children's parties :)

Happy Birthday to someone who

Can cook an amazing apple glazed pork chop
or a mean hamburger.
Is a  Super Hero
Especially when he put together our new BBQ grill

Is very intelligent....Really
 Loves guns

Is surprisingly Artistic

Was an entertaining teenager.

Is really a cuddly character
...when he's not playing to win.

He's someone who works hard...at whatever he does.
He really is very cool.

So who is this masked hero?

 Happy 24th Birthday Jake

Law of the Harvest

I love my little kitchen garden.
It is right outside my kitchen door
...of course my yard is so small
everything in my yard is  just right outside my kitchen door.
I love picking tomatoes just when I need them for a salad or Karl's lunch.
I love snipping fresh herbs just seconds before I toss them in a sauce or stir-fry.
But occasionally something produces faster than we can eat it.

 When this happens...
The tomatoes and basil end up on the dehydrator.

 Ahhh...I love Sundried  tomatoes
Okay...these were dehydrator dried
but do you really think the ones from the store actually laid out in the sun
...I don't think so.
Pack in olive oil, garlic and just a couple leaves of dried basil.

This guy is just waiting for tonight's salad .

36 hours of small town livin'

We got together with all Karl's his siblings and their spouses at Clare's weekend home in Paragonah.
Jammin' with some friends...as they were just passin' thru Paragonah.

Official judging
Dinner at the local Mexican restaurant
Unfortunately the St. George folk had to head back early...just leaving us with Clare and Kaye...what can we do?

Just watchin' the garden grow
The garden didn't have any potatoes...so we headed to Parowan to get some...
and we got a little side-tracked...maybe a lot.
Parowan...so quaint!
Saturday yardsale finds in Parowan...the hats not the men.

Clare hunting for arrowheads
Clare, that rock's a little big to be an arrow head
Harvesting  a salad for lunch
Just killin' time waitin' on lunch
 Afternoon ride up the canyon

Karl got 90% less bugs in his teeth than somebody else.
 ...to a spring.
 and a then a reservoir.
So beautiful!
Got back to the house just in time to watch a summer shower.
Ahhh...now that was the good life...for 36 hour.
