We're back, we're sunburned and it was worth it!

The Tobler Caribbean Cruise was amazing. Truly a dream vacation with 4 of our 5 boys, their wives and a few Shoemakes. We are all a little shocked that it actually happened.... but thanks to Janet our vacation was full of beautiful beaches, snorkling, a multitude of games and lots of relaxing. There was non-stop eating ...any time, any where. A few of us even ate too much and suffered because of it.We enjoyed romantic evenings......and it was a great way to celebrate our 34th anniversary. It was a perfect Tobler vacation...and Ken only got in a little trouble.
You probably think this is the end.
Nope!...there will be a slide show containing just a few zillion photos...so be prepared.

Late but not forgotten

Our first born just celebrated another birthday.

He's always been as cute as a bug.

And he's a pretty super guy.

With a lot of talents

And accomplishments.

He's always been good at multi-tasking.

And he has a beautiful little family.

Happy Birthday Chad!

We're officially empty-nesters!

They're finally married! Though in some ways it seems liked Jake and Steph been married for quite awhile... other ways I can't put my brain around that our youngest is married...that all our kids are married. Does that make us officially old?

It is unusual to have the wedding reception two weeks before the wedding but because it was an international marriage it just worked the best.

The official wedding was Saturday,
August 1st in the Salt Lake Temple.

(and it was beautiful!)

Mr. & Mrs. Jakob Tobler

Thanks to all who traveled so far to be there for their special day. We really appreciate it!

For those of you who couldn't join us...here's a glimpes of their special day.

Our stake Pioneer Day Celebration

The day started at 6:00 am with a 5K run.
Karl clocked in at 28:00 minutes. I made it around the course without dying.
That makes us both winners!

At 2:00 pm we headed to Warm Springs which is a church owned recreational facility about 40 miles north of Vegas. It was so hot and humid...but we had a great time. Hand cart races And a bluegrass band
...that will play for food.

And Nate, get his autograph now...someday he'll be famous.

It's raining, it's pouring!

I love a good thunder storm
but we only get an occasionally few here in Vegas.
But a good storm welcomed us home from our travels.

It was such a good storm we got a bit nervous. The newly formed lake on our patio was only an inch from running into the house and it was still coming down strong......so we started baling!

See mother run...

Been to Bryce Canyon for a family reunion...headed to Edmonton for Jake's Canadian reception. I'll post both when life slows down...maybe sooner.

Love, Mom T.

My new toy.

No more red-neck blender methods for us.

Several years ago I decided someday I would get a Vita-Mix. So on my last day at the (now closed) Bosch Store I decided to take advantage of my employee status and get it at cost.

Jake calls it the blender attached to a lawn mower engine...I agree. He says it could liquefy wood...he better not try it.
The other day I made sorbet out of straight frozen fruit, in seconds. It was amazing. I love it. And the sorbet tasted pretty good too.

The mucky looking concoction in it is my "green drink". Basically a super healthy smoothie with spinach and a few other super ingredients. Looks bad...tastes really good. Charlie would even like it.

And he's smart too.

In case the print is too small or you're too distracted by the busyness of the photo...

...here's what the fine prints says.

It was a Happy 4th of July

The day started with a ward pancake breakfast and swim at the Astle's.

Of course Karl, Jake and Jake's cell phone ended up in the pool.
[The cell phone dried out nicely and, thankfully, still works!]Later I was a canning (finally the last of the apricots!)
...while Karl was a jammin'.

That afternoon we went up to Mt. Charleston to check out a new trail.
It's quite a climb
but we are excited to try it again and make it to plateau and the valley overlook.

Then we ran to Fremont street
...to see the lights
and the laser light show.

Karl liked watching the bands...I liked watching the people...

Lots of interesting people.

We ended the day with fireworks.

We didn't have time to BBQ any hamburgers...that's today.
