So we could make room for a new acquisition.
It happened quite unexpectedly and quite suddenly...like how quickly can one said
"Why yes we want to buy it!"
We had been casually discussing the pros and cons of a seven passenger SUV vs. a 4-door pick up...
Then one Sunday morning a few weeks ago we went for a walk. As we were just about to head up our sidewalk to the front door we saw Bro. Whitaker out going for a walk. Now poor Bro. Whitaker has had a few/alot of health issues so we trotted down the sidewalk to talk to him. While we were chatting with him up drove Bro. Spendlove in this Red Explorer. Now Bro. Spendlove only buy white vehicles...5 white vehicles. "So what's with the Red car?" "Are you going to the dark side?" and other harassing comments. Then I ask "So are you going to sell it?" "Yea...you want to buy it?" "Yea...I do!!!" Yeah...that was basically how fast we bought it. We took a quick test drive around the block, kicked the tires and talked about how much he wanted for it.
Turns out his father-in-law had passed away and his wife was the executor if the estate...so it was up to her to sell her dad's car for the estate. And they just wanted to sell it quickly with the least amount of hassle. So he was just going to take it to Car Max the next morning. If we hadn't gone for a walk and if seeing Bro. Whitaker hadn't detained us out on the sidewalk...we would have totally missed it.
So we take that as a sign...it was meant to be.

One day we will have one but for now I am just excited that we will be able to fir my kids AND our luggage when we come to visit!
Wow, what good fortune! It is in excellent condition and very pretty! Now careful you don't go cruising around too much. Red does attract the attention of cops more than white does ;)
Beautiful car!! So happy for you guys :)!
You truly are grandparents when you get a car that you can haul the grandkids in even when they all live out of town!
