Bring on the New Year.

We are home from a great Christmas in Houston.
Anxiously re-grouping and re-focusing preparing to dive into a New Year.   I love  the symbolic clean slate and fresh start a new year brings.
In the past 24 hours we discovered a leak in our roof,  the oven stopped working and the door fell off our shower.
2013 has me a tad bit worried.

Houston Day 1

So I'm in Houston helping  with the post-move chaos and the pre- Christmas prep.   Organizing someone else's stuff...my idea of a good time.  REALLY.   Our goal is to get the Houston house as organized and easy maintaining before baby #3 complicates Janet's life.
Besides unpacking boxes and organizing cupboards other fun things of been happening.

Violet's primary teacher gave her this awesome nativity.  

So fun to hear a 4 year old's version.

Bath time

The girl's have been playing great while Janet and I have been buried in boxes.

We took a break and went to the Museum of Natural Science.

Thursday...Free Day!!!!

 She was getting a bit tense.

That place was amazing...
hoping  to go back next Thursday.

Then we celebrated Grampa Karl's birthday...
even though he's still in Vegas

Violet help him by blowing out the candle.

Guess who showed up at Violet and Lucia's?

 They named him Sebastian

 He brought a special breakfast on his first morning.

 Several times Violet exclaimed "I can't believe we have a real Elf!"  

 She is so excited.

 It's hard to eat with an Elf watching you.

 It's hard to read with an Elf watching you.

 We also decorated the tree tonight.

Finally Janet just got the stool and placed the star.

 Then we settled in and watched the little movie "Elf on the Shelf."

If there was any doubt...it is gone.

"Gramma we have a real Elf."

I'm loving the 6 additional cubic feet and having the refrigerator at eye level.
Karl is loving the ice maker...conveniently located right inside the freezer drawer.

What...no ice and water in the door front?!    That's right no ice and water is take up way any precious refrigerator space.  Besides it's faster to scoop ice out of the bin than wait for it to chunk or grind out of the chute and the RO is two steps away.,

Our old friend found a new home in the garage. It will just house water, soda and other non-refrigerated food stuff  and will only get plugged in   for over-flow food events.  Bring on the Party!!!

Now to find a big bow for Christmas.
